Hi, please allow me to introduce myself I’m a man of wealth and taste . . . wait no that’s not me. That’s just the beginning of a song from the Rolling Stones. My name is Rick and I am the owner and Emcee of Elite Street Productions. I have been a music lover all my life, my first memory of music was in our camper at the lake, my older sister had a portable record player with a bunch of 45’s of the Beatles, Chicago, Beach Boys and so many more. My favorite song in my early years was Joey Dee’s Ya Ya., I know I must have played it to death. For my 12th Birthday I got my very own record player, which was amazing with the way I liked to tear apart things (like my parents expensive stereo console.) it was a turn table and 8 track player. My sister bought me my first 45’s records, which include Paul McCartney and Wings’ Band on the Run. My first albums I bought were Terry Jacks' Seasons in the Sun and Boston's self titled album. I drug that stereo everywhere we went, I guess you could say that’s when I started being a mobile DJ. I loved playing music, not just rock and roll but music. My parents were strict country music fans. We took vacations at places like Opry Land in Nashville, TN. and Ponderosa Park in Ohio., so it was only natural music would be instilled in me.
My love of music continued through my elementary and high school years. I bought my first car stereo at Sears & Roebuck, and had to install it in the parking lot. With this said I think you are getting the idea of my love for music, or maybe just my insaneness in general.
My first gig as a DJ was playing music for my family in the late 70’s for a New Years Eve Party. I also would pretend to DJ every chance I could. But my first real gig was a Halloween Party in 1988 for my local Jaycees, I didn’t have any real sound equipment. I did however have a component stereo system that I hooked 2 turntables up and used to DJ. I had my own collection of music, as well as my parents albums, and cassette singles I had borrowed from a friend. Ever since that day I have been building my system, and tuning my skills to become who I am today.
I am still passionate about music and have vast knowledge of many generes . Over the years I have seen many different media’s to bring music to my clients. From the days I would drag 45’s & tapes., to CD’s and now all digital MP3’s. I currently use only digital music for any events I have. I do however still carry a CD Player in my setup.
With a little help from my friends . . . In the Late 80's and 90's I had plenty of help with djing. With one of my best and close friends Joe Murphy, and my nephew John we did lots of parties, weddings, dances and outdoor events together. Our favorite night of the week was our Sunday's at Diamante's in Mt. Pleasant, we would have that house rockin', packed to the gills. With their help I honed my skills and learned to be the DJ I am today. Diamante's holds memories for more than one reason, that is also where i met my wife Crystal, with the love and support of my wife and kids I continue this tradition of being one of the areas best DJ's.
I am the type of person who aims to please, on the day of your event I bring my knowledge of music as well as my vast collection to please you and your guests. I am there to play background music when it should be background music, and to play dance music when it is time to get up and dance. I will make any introductions and announcements when you need them, but will not be talking on the microphone just to hear myself talk. |
