Q: Do you take requests?
Absolutely! Your guests can feel free to request any song from our extensive music collection. We are working on an online request form for both music and karaoke. Of course, you have final say over any and all music played at your event.
Q: How long should my reception last?
We currently have two reception packages, one for up to 5 hours and one for up to 6 hours. This is the typical length of most wedding receptions. Of course if you would like a longer reception, we are available for overtime upon request.
Q: How will you dress for my event?
On our questionare, you will tell us what type of event yours will be. Formal, Semi Casual or Casual. Our apparel will be approriate for your event.
Q: Will I have a consultation with you before my event?
Yes. We can consult via phone, email or face to face. Whichever is easiest for you.
Q: Why are there such price differences between DJ’s?
DJ's are just like anyone else working for a living. You pay for experience, equipment and even popularity. A new DJ may not charge as much because he/she is inexperienced and still learning, and perhaps their equipment isn't top of the line and his music library isn't as extensive as someone who's been in the business for 20 years. Of course, you get what you pay for.
Q: Do we have to feed the DJ/DJs?
This is suggested but not required. On our questionare you may tell us if we are invited for dinner. We always go last (at a buffet) and we eat at our DJ table.
Q: Will you be drinking at my event?
NO. We will not come to your event and drink any alchoholic beverages. Soda, water or coffee is the strongest drink we require.
Q: I know someone who said that he/she could play music at my function, so why should I pay for a professional DJ?
You've got the perfect wedding gown and flowers. Booked the biggest venue and found the most delicious caterer. Why cut corners on the entertainment? When asked what they remember most about an event, most guests say the entertainment. Make sure your guests have a great time and book a professional DJ. We do more than just play music. We are the Emcee for your event, we make announcements, we help you to plan every minute of your reception, and we consult with the other vendors (photographer and caterer) in order to be sure everything runs smoothly on your big day!
Q: Do I tip the DJ?
Tips are welcome, but not required. If you feel the DJ did a great job, and all your guests had a good time, then a tip should be offered, but again, it isn't required.
Q: Do you use props and play games at events?
Only if you request it. You can customize any event by selecting the kinds of games and props offered by Elite Street Productions. Examples include: Limbo, Hula Hoops, Skip Its, Beach Balls, Musical Chairs, Etc. Plus we are open to ideas!
Q: How long in advance should we book our DJ?
You should start looking for your entertainment at least 6 months before your event. This doesn't mean you won't be able to find one if you wait, but you chances of finding a good one get slimmer for every day you wait. Most DJs are booked months in advance. If you find yourself needing a DJ for an event usually held on a Saturday (Typical wedding day of the week) think about having your event on a Friday, Sunday or any other day of the week. We have special pricing for off day bookings. You could get your DJ and save some money! |
